Few comments on the what I 've seen from the Panthers so far this preseason...

Keyshawn Johnson - KJ has been nothing but leadership so far with us. He has looked surperb in the 2 preseason games and flat out makes our offense much more dangerous. He and Smith will be just fine together and this offense is flat out loaded with talent.

DeAngelo Williams - hasn't shown much at all atp. His lack of top end speed and lack of size makes me wonder how good he will ever be. He certainly has the vision and deserves some time as a rookie but LenDale White could prove to be the guy we missed on. We have a need for a power short yardage guy and White would've fit perfectly. Shelton has looked no more than below average and will be cut. Alex Haynes (I think) has a legit shot at this roster. He has been very impressive.

Drew Carter is growing up and should be a real weapon this season. I think the lights gone on for him.

Jordan Gross is giving up some things in protection that at least need to be watched. Gave up a sack last week and miffed another block that was his assignment.

Richard Marshall is getting huge praise from the coaches, and for a rookie, has the kinda moxie you don't see very often. He's gonna be a player once he learns the details of the game.

The Panthers defensive line has been awesome as advertised. Stanley McGlover and Tony Brown are 2 guys that might steal roster spots. Those 2 have been very impressive and McGlover has ridiculous speed off the edge.

DeShaun Foster looks great so far and seems completely healed from this broken leg.

And the best news of all...no signifant injuries so far!

Yeah, i haven't been thrilled with Williams so far, but you have to keep it in perspective here - he was playing behind the 2nd team o-line (or weakest area depth-wise) against Buffalo, and while the starters were in, nobody was able to run against Jacksonville - not Foster, nor were they able to run on us.

I think Thursday's game against Miami will be a much better test. We won't be playing against a d-line as good as Jacksonville's, and the starters will get more time, which means Williams will too.

I seriously can't wait for Keyshawn and Smith to get on the field together. The way Keyshawn's played so far, and Colbert and Carter as well - add Smith to that, and that's a dangerous WR corp.

Is Foster locked in as the starter over DeAngelo?

Carolina's rushing O hasn't looked too great so far. It's not just Williams. In week 1 after the starters were done nobody ran the ball well for Carolina (save for one 20 yard run by Williams after he had a bunch of crap carries). Buffalo had guys in the backfield to meet the RB time after time it seemed. Last week was no different except for a little bit of Goings vs Jville subs.. The run blocking just hasn't been there.

I wouldn't argue that too much. The blocking hasn't been there and we are not showing all the cards in terms of run blocking IMO. Very vanilla. DeAngleo has some talent but I questioned his overall NFL tool set before the draft and I continue to be skeptical of what this guy can do in this league.

Yes, DeShaun is the starter and from I've seen is the better back by far right now. Its not close.

He has impressed me as much as anyone on this team so far in the preseason. Delhomme =

1st team offense has moved the ball very well and thats without Superman (SSmith).

This team is very, very talented with experienced depth. This should be fun to watch.

I actually think Nick Goings has looked the best out of all the RB's.
