Panthers-Miami Observations...

DeAngelo finally showed something in this one. Great KO return for TD and made several other very nice runs. He looked much more decisive last night. He could be a real good.

On the other Panthers RBs - I thought it was interesting that Robertson was the guy late in the game that got action. If they cut him, I would not put it past the Panthers brass to cut Shelton, Haynes, Robertson and the other scubs and pick up a RB from another team that can do goal line. Robertson could be the guy but with DeAngelo handling KO returns he becomes expendible.

The Panthers defense looked dominant yet again although they did give up some stuff in coverage. Very little blitzing though. The DTs spent the night in the Dolphin backfield basically. Kris Jenkins looked dominating to say the least. They could not block his ***. Damione Lewis had a few eye popping plays. He is better than advertised so far. Stanley McGlover needs to make this team IMO. I'm not sure he will but he has serious speed off the edge.

Thomas Davis should be ****ing illegal. Man is a beast. He nearly decapped one of the Dolphin WRs. Seriously Davis is already one of the nastiest hitters in this league. He ****ing hurts people.

BTW: Miami honestly looks like a contender in the AFC. There are not many holes on that team. If Culpepper can return to his form from a few years ago they will be super tough. There is a lot of talent on that roster (albeit aging talent).

Also, it appears the Diggs might have knee injury. MRI today. ****!

Diggs said he was told it wasn't an ACL injury, so that's good. Hopefully nothing serious, but if so, we do have Chris Draft, Adam Seward, and Keith Adams, so we should be fine.

The Good:
The defense is ****ing sick. Kris Jenkins looks great, and nobody ****ing runs on us. They didn't blitz much, of ANY last night, though, which lead to almost zero pass-rush, and a tough time for the secondary.

Thomas Davis. ****ing sick.

DeAngelo Williams - impressive. We have our kick returner, and he looked good running the ball as well. It seems like it's only a matter of finding the balance between his cut-back style, and just hitting the hole no matter what. He was more decisive, but that juke he put on Tillman was ****ing nice.

John Kasay - drilled a 53-yarder. Something he didn't do often last year.

The Bad:
Jake Delhomme - just had an off-night. Overthrew his receivers, and never really seemed to find a rhythm.

The secondary - didn't seem to play that hard, honestly. I hope it was just because it was preseason. The lack of pass rush didn't help.

Injuries - Diggs, Shaun Williams, and Evan Mathis - three starters - were all hurt. Williams returned, and Mathis doesn't look too hurt, but Diggs could be.

Davis is a ****ing beast. I saw him nail one of his own teammates in a practice game at fanfest so I knew he would light up people on another team.

Who was the guy at the end of the game that popped the tight end for Miami. I was rolling.
