Steve Reed, of the Gaston Gazette, reports Carolina Panthers TE Kris Mangum would serve as Carolina's emergency quarterback in the event both QB Jake Delhomme and QB Chris Weinke were to get injured during the course of a game. "I'm not sure what our two-minute drill would look like, but he could do it," joked Panthers' head coach John Fox.

So we cut Lefors a third round pick last year and sign basanez a undrafted rookie this year. Lefors must have not been good.

I remember saying that Salley would not make this team when he was drafted. No surprise IMO.

Robertson, Hill and Haye were mild surprises but I am very surprised they didn't find a spot for Jarrett Bush. He looked very solid. Also, I'm very surprised that Shelton made the cut but I'm not unhappy about it. He needs some more coaching and reps cause but there is talent there.

Glad to see Tony Brown and Stanley McGlover make the squad. Both guys have a bright future IMO.

Lefors was absolutely awful in the preseason. Basanez showed that he is worth some coaching and time spent. I like his aggressive throwing style, although he takes too many chances atp.
