The Falcons rushed for 252 yards on 47 carries (5.4 avg.). It marked the 12th time since 2004 that the Falcons surpassed the 200-yard rushing mark. The team passed the 200-yard rushing plateau in the third quarter.
The Falcons outnumbered the Panthers in yards as they tallied 385 total yards to Carolina's 215. Atlanta (252 rushing yards) tallied almost four times the rushing yards than Carolina (65 rushing yards), while also tallying four sacks.
The Panthers converted 1 of 10 (10%) attempts on third down. In 2005, the Falcons ranked first in the NFL for opponents third down conversion rate (30.2%).
RB Warrick Dunn recorded 29 carries for 132 rushing yards (4.6). He also had one catch for 10 yards. Dunn had 14 carries for 90 yards (6.4 avg.) in the first half.

From the Bucs game:
Quote:
The Falcons rushed for a franchise-record 306 yards on 44 carries (7.0 avg.). That's the most since they got 297 yards in 1972.
It marked the 13th time since 2004 that the Falcons surpassed the 200-yard rushing mark. The team passed the 200-yard rushing plateau in the third quarter.
The Falcons have out-rushed their opponents by an astonishing 453 yards in their first two games (558 to 105). That 105 yards is third best defensively.
The Falcons are one of three teams to not have had a touchdown scored against them this season (Baltimore and Denver).
The Falcons defense held the Bucs to 40 rushing yards on 16 carries (2.5 avg.). Falcons opponents have averaged 52.5 yards of rushing per game in two weeks of play. The 40 rushing yards were the third least allowed by the Falcons since the start of the 2004 season (30 vs. St. Louis, 9-19-04; 37 vs. New York Jets, 10-24-05)
RB Warrick Dunn recorded his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game as he tallied 134 rushing yards on 21 carries (6.4 avg). The 134 yards marked a career-high for Dunn against the Bucs.
The 266 rushing yards over two games marks the fastest start for Dunn in his career. The next fastest start was 171 rushing yards last year over the first two games.
It marks the first time that Dunn has gone over the 100-yard mark in each of his first two contests.
Dunn rushed for 95 yards on 12 carries (7.9 avg.) in the first half.
DE Patrick Kerney extends his regular season consecutive games started streak to 98.
Nothing's been released on it, thus far, but in Mora's PC he said that this week he was a gametime decision in order to avoid further injury. I would think right now he and Hart are questionable for Monday's game.
The Falcons were the NFL's top rushing team in 2004 when they won the NFC South, and then they did it again while finishing at just 8-8 last season. So far in eight quarters of play, Warrick Dunn, Michael Vick, Jerious Norwood and Justin Griffith have combined for 557 yards -- Griffith has one carry for six yards.
That's 557 yards rushing in two games. Nine teams don't have 557 yards all together. And Kansas City and Miami aren't off the hook either, as those two squads are within 11 total yards of the magic number. [/b]
Warrick Dunn is the most underrated back in the NFL. I'm glad though, it made it easy for me to get him in my fantasy draft. I might not be doing so good without him.
