If they can upgrade the position -it's a no-brainer. Emery is not the kind of guy who pays you for what you did last year, or the year before (the way a contract should be) but what you can be expected to do for the next few years.
Urlacher had his career with the Bears, he loved Lovie, and Lovie couldn't get it done. He's never been able to shed one an one blocks (he's game was speed and pursuit) anyone not named Helen Keller can see those days are behind him. He's too expensive to keep (like a Ford GT on unpaved roads), and his outbursts against paying fans (without whom he has no salary) this year, is proof positive that it's time to part ways.
The only reason the Chicago Bears should take the field, is to win games, and ultimately the Super Bowl, not to be a showpiece of human museum pieces.
Trestman brought back the Grey Cup to Montreal, not by having misplaced loyalty to past performances, but by making the changes neccessary to win. I hope he continues with the winning philosophy.
