Gage, Boone leave Bears via free agency

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Wide receiver Justin Gage and defensive tackle Alfonso Boone left the Bears Friday, signing free agent contracts with the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively.

Gage was de-activated for eight of the final 10 games last season including Super Bowl XLI, and finished the regular season with just four receptions for 68 yards.

Boone played in 12 games with four starts in 2006, registering 35 tackles and two sacks.

So long to Gage, and I don't know why Boone started over Scott when Harris first got injured but he was a decent back up.

I thought Gage was pretty good but he didn't get much playing time. Probably other reasons too that we'll never know.

Gage had decent hands but could not get seperation at all and he also didn't run very good routes.
