Default Bears, Underrated contenders or one hit wonder?

What does 2006 hold in store for them? (and by "contender" I mean to reach the Super Bowl)

I still think they will win the division but the offense has to be much better for them to be a title contender. The defense is great, but they need Griese, Grossman, Orton to step up and play like a NFL player, not a scrub.

Getting Greise was smart for them. They should still go with Grossman, but if he fails/gets hurt at least they have a QB behind him who has been successful

the bears had a padded record last year b/c of weak division opponents. 5 of their 11 wins were against nfc north teams. unless the offense plays a ton better than last year (I believe I counted only 4 games that they scored 20 or more points) there is no way they make a run at the title.

You're right about the padded record, however the division will be just as bad if not worse this year. The Bears have as good a shot as the Packers and Vikings (we already know the Lions will be last).

The Vikings have the best overall team but the bears have the best unit, there defense won them the division last year no way they can win the super bowl. No one from the Nfc North will make it to the super bowl.

Regardless they are going to win the division...and no the lions will not win it LIONSFAN. Dont even ask why. If they win the division I think they will be a real contender, but they might exit the playoffs early.

I agree with this 100%. I think the bears are and were an 8-8 team playing above thier heads.
