New policies in place for Bears home games
By Larry Mayer
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Fans attending Saturday night’s preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers and other Bears home games this year at Soldier Field will notice improvements and changes in stadium policies.
One highlight is the addition of 1,000 Southwest Facilities parking spaces at Michael Reese Hospital—700 of which are being designated for tailgaters—with free shuttles to the stadium. In addition, the Smoke Free Illinois Act
prohibits smoking both inside and outside Soldier Field.
The Bears will work closely with stadium security to be more visible in the seating areas to proactively address patrons violating the team’s code of conduct.
Other items of interest include the following:
*The East Monroe Street/Millennium Park Garage also runs free shuttles to the games.
*PACE Bus has discontinued its shuttle service to Bears games.
*The Bears Fan Services department created a “Public Transportation & Cash Parking” brochure to help fans that do not have onsite coupon parking. It is being mailed to all season ticket holders and will be available in the stadium at Fan Service booths.
*Men’s and women’s bathrooms were added on the Service Level, which is accessible from the South Courtyard behind the Doughboy Statue.
*The Bears and stadium management will continue to address excessive wait times for men’s restrooms.
*Concession stands will offer more food items such as gyros, imported beers and grilled Chicago hot dogs and will accept credit cards and Master Card Pay Pass.
