waddell was mentioning some OL off the practice squad, saying that he'll develop into a stable lineman...i'm forgetting the name, but i'll check on it.
his name is rob droege from missouri, he tore his acl in the pre-season. tom thayer is very high on him as well saying he has the feet to play LT in the nfl.

aaron gibson is gone.

the bears tried to move tait to LT in training camp but it aggrivated his groin injury (right leg, which is your anchor & pivot leg at LT).

regardless if tait moves to LT or not it is almost a certainty that the bears will address the o-line with one of their first two picks. they will have another OT and OG in the mix either via the draft or FA. the OT will be brought in to either start at LT or compete with colombo at RT.

i would like to see the bears try q mitchell out at guard, as that's what he played in his practice squad stint with the browns. i feel a heated competition between q mitchell, edwards, tucker and metcalf should create a decent starting option at RG.

i think the oline will look like this next year:

tait - ruben - olin - ? - colombo/draft pick

why can't we bring in an LT and LG, since brown and tait are all-pro RG and RT respectively
Money. The Bears aren't going to spend the money on an elite FA LT when we have a dern good one on the roster (Tait). We already have quite a bit of money tied up with Kreutz and Tait and I don't see us breaking the bank to fix the line. I don't think we have to. We need a good RG and a good RT. I don't think we have to break the bank to fix it. Perhaps the money they could have spend on Walter Jones will go to sign a big name receiver.

Heck yeah it does.

I would be quite happy with Tait, Brown, Kreutz, Gandy and some FA RT.

Sorry, but considering most of our players are tied up nicely, what is wrong with spending money on the best LT in football? If they front-load it, they will be able to keep space for next year. When it comes down to it, we don't have that much money committed to our line because JA has handled their contracts that way.

Give me Walter Jones, Mike Williams and a guard in the second and I will show you a team that is a force next year.

There is nothing wrong with spending money on the best LT in football. However its not a need. Tait will do just fine. I would much rather spend the money elsewhere like on a proven FA WR. WRs no matter how good they look in college are a HUGE risk. As I said Tait and Brown will be fine on the left side. Now we just need to get a decent guard and RT.

Angleo says he's not spending money in FA this season.

Well then the move of Tait to LT makes alot of sense then. We weren't going to go after Jones at LT. Although there is a risk involved I really hope we take Williams. I honestly think he will solve our WR woes.

i agree, not an edwards fan, not because of the inappropriate DT comparisons, just because i dont see him as a top 5 pick, williams is a stud and i would be all over him in a heartbeat

i'll agree with you that it won't be worth getting a top LT or RT, since we already did that last year. do you think angelo could go after some cheap FAs to ensure a healthy depth chart next year?
