LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Led by NFL Defensive Player of the Year Brian Urlacher and fellow All-Pro Lance Briggs, the Bears boast the top linebacking corps in the league.


Brian Urlacher quarterbacked a Bears defense that allowed the fewest points in the NFL last season.
Urlacher earned the prestigious honor and a fifth trip to the Pro Bowl last season after registering a team-leading 171 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and six sacks. Briggs was selected to his first Pro Bowl after recording 170 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks.

Strongside linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer recently signed a long-term contract extension to remain in Chicago, while the Bears bolstered the position by selecting Arizona State's Jamar Williams in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

well i think he will get it, they would be crazy to let him go. It would be just like when they let Colvin leave to the Pats. IMO Briggs is just as important to that defense as Urlacher is.

i don't know why, but Madden and nfl.com always give players way less. Like when Jamie Sharper almost got 200 tackles for the Texans Madden said he only had like 120.

Lovie Smith reduced him to second string for missing OTA's
Nathan vasher also wants a contract extension

I dont understand it, the bears overpay ricky manning in the Offseason
But they wont give vasher (a pro bowler) an extension
So now they have Charles Tillman, Ricky Manning, and Nathan Vasher

Thomas Jones is also disgruntled with the team, but they have an heir apparent for him in Cedric Benson

briggs got demoted for minis, that guy will be starting during the season, he will not hold out during the season. it happens every year with a ton of teams. how many tackles does nfl.com say if you add solo tackles and assisted tackles together.
