Default Preseason finale could be Haynes' last look

Michael Haynes is healthy and ready to make what could be his last stand as a Bear.

"If you think about it, this is the only game I have until final cuts," the fourth-year defensive lineman said, referring to Thursday night's preseason finale at Cleveland. "It's do or die, for not only me but a lot of other players."

Haynes, who was the 14th overall pick in the 2003 draft — the second draft for Bears general manager Jerry Angelo — stands on the verge of being pushed out of Chicago as a bust. Angelo's first first-round pick, tackle Marc Colombo (in 2002), is making strides now in Dallas after a severe knee injury ended his Bears career.

Well it's good he knows that knows on the verge of being cut. But if hasn't done anything to impress in four seasons than what is he going to do in one game

Injuries are why most lack luster players are kept on the team too long. I think the Bears can find better.

He almost sounds as if this last pre-season game is the only time he has had to prove himself. He needs to quit his crying. I remember his rookie year when he was whining about the coaching staff swearing... Get over it big boy! The only reason the Bears kept him around this long was because of how high he was drafted and also because he could play DT and DE. Neither of them good, but in a pinch he was able to fill in when needed.

I had no idea that Colombo went to Dallas... it's insane to think of what happens to these players. It's frustrating to not be able to be solid at any position this close to the season.
