If a 4 year old came up to you and punched you in the gut it wouldn't hurt at all. Does that mean when he is a body builder adult his punch won't hurt. I'm just wondering. You guys can talk about the past but I'm sorry to break the bad news. The past means nothing. Did we have Walter Jones for the last 40 years, no. Did we have Shaun Alexander, no. Did we have Matt Hasselbeck in his prime, no. Did we have Lofa Tatupu, no. The Seahawks could have sucked for the last million years and I wouldn't care. Cause they don't suck now. And you know what, NOW is all that matters.

You sound a little bitter for a guy whose team just lost the Super Bowl.

i think quite the contrary, Sports is all about the past, if we had no past we'd have nothing
so the steelers won the super bowl, the day after the super bowl, does it suddenly not matter anymore?!
wtf would they be fighting for... one day's celebration
I Strongly disagree with you

You said that is pretty harsh for someone whos team has sucked for 40 years. So what if they have been bad. All that matters is that they are really good right now. If the Steelers lost all thier players then would last season mean anything for the upcoming season. No. Sure their name would mean they are the reigning champs but if none of the players from the championship team where on the team then history would be pointless. With your method the Packers are way better then the Hawks. Ha!! The Hawks would kill the Packers. History may be used for one or two years. The only exception is when a team stays together. Like the Patriots. So the Hawks might have sucked in the distant past but who gives a f*ck about the distant past. I sure don't. All care about is the 2006 season and the 2005 seasons stats. In the 2006 season the Hawks are going to be better then any team the North can produce. You can talk about the distant past all you want but its not going to get you anywhere.

Erik, If the Seahawks won 5-6 superbowls you'd be ranting all about it. So don't tell me the past means nothing. It only means nothing if your team is bad.

I would probably be ranting about it yes. But then I would hope someone like you would show me the truth, that ancient history means nothing when we are talking about the 2006 season. I know history is a huge part of sports but saying that it was harsh because my team has sucked is stupid. I know the Hawks are better then any team in the North so why can't I say that. I'm not going to lay down dead just because my team was bad a long time ago. A long time ago means nothing for this season.

Since you clarified that, yes I agree. I/we have to be carefull what we say cause it'll get picked apart.

They have been good for the last three years and I wouldn't call 13-3 or 14-2 (depending if you call the last game of the season a lost) decent. I would call that great.
