Default Bears Running Game???

Bears remain confident in ground game
By Larry Mayer

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The running game that powered the Bears offense in 2005 has unexpectedly taken a backseat to a prolific passing attack so far this season.

But with the NFL’s top-rated quarterback in Rex Grossman leading a unit that scored 60 points in lopsided wins over Green Bay and Detroit, there’s little concern about any lack of production on the ground.

After two games, Bears running back Thomas Jones is on pace to rush for 1,016 yards this season.
“We’re definitely excited about the way the offense has played,” said running back Thomas Jones. “We’ll run the ball when we need to run the ball.

“We’ve been making some pretty good plays in the run game. We just haven’t had a breakout game that we’re due to have. But we’re putting up points. We’re moving the ball, we’re converting on third down; we’re doing all the things that we need to do to be successful.”

Once that run game gets going...look out!

Like the story says, as long as they keep getting first downs and confusing defenses, it's going to be a fine season.

Anyway imagine the Bears with 150yds+ a game rushing to complement the way Grossman is playing along with their D = Superbowl

Yessir... if the Bears can continue to put up 20 points a game and eat the clock, no team will be able to beat them with that D.
