LAKE FOREST, Ill. – NFL MVP Shaun Alexander will miss his first game in seven pro seasons Sunday night, but that won’t alter how the Bears approach their nationally televised showdown with the defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks.
“Our defense doesn’t change week to week no matter who the running back is,” said middle linebacker Brian Urlacher, who was selected 10 slots ahead of Alexander in the 2000 draft. “We’re going to get in our gaps, get up the field and try to get into the backfield. With our speed, we get 11 guys to the football every play. It shouldn’t be a big deal for us.”
