Some of the best moments from Tuesday's show came from guests. Mike Ditka, taking a break from a golf game, gave it to Bears management for their draft-day decisions.
"I'm not in the bashing business and I'm not going to start now," Ditka said, "but when you trade out of the first round and pick a guy (Danieal Manning) you probably could have gotten in the fourth round, you have to start questioning that.
"What is it? Is it the money you have to pay the first-round [pick] or the fact that you drafted [Marc] Colombo and [Cedric] Benson, really two flops, at No. 1? Are you afraid to have another flop? I don't know.
"I'm not throwing punches at everybody. But, listen, when I coached, I traded the whole draft away for one player [Ricky Williams] because I thought he could make us a better football team."

Trib article
And then........

A GM is supposed to try to do one thing: Win a championship as fast as possible. That's why the Bears blew it in the draft by trading down and adding several mid-level players who can develop into something solid. That's what you do when the team is starting over. The Bears were the No. 2 team in the conference and needed a few parts for the top. They should have traded up or traded out of the draft for veterans.
That was a cowardly draft for Jerry Angelo, afraid to take his shot at the Super Bowl.

You have to read down the article to find the quotes.
One is Teddy Greensteins article and the other is in a Sox article. Sometimes these guys go off track just to rip the Bears and Angelo.

I hate to say it but Ditka is wrong. Calling Benson a flop when he hasn't even played a full year yet is BS.

How can this guy ever say anything about the NFL draft again? Someone should remind him that he traded his entire draft for Ricky Williams. How did that work out coach?

Chicago needed a Safety and there weren't many left worth taking. They probably should've stayed put and gotten Bullocks, but maybe thought he would drop.
I don't know, it seemed to be a risk they lost on but thats the way it goes sometimes.
