they play against NINE teams that just had a head coaching change. As a Packer fan, I would love to say that doesn't matter, but I am not that drunk at the moment.

ya thats pretty sweet

Packers are actually the one team I am a little worried about in the NFCN...

They are keeping the same Defensive coordinator... and the new Head coach worked in basically the same offense so the offense won't be to different... besides the Bears they are the only team in the division that will have any consistency... the only question is if they have the horses... and with Favre... who knows...

I thought they lost their DC and were going with a new guy after Bates interviewed for the HC job and was shot down?

The Packers had the most potential to run for second place, but then the offseason started. Between all the dicking around that Favre did, the 14 vets not bothering to show up for the OTAs, and the loss of the DC that had them playing over their heads last year, GB could be ready to finish this year worse then last season.

But back to the original topic... I've been saying for months that if the Bears don't win 12 games they should consider the season a waste. They have everything they need to get a first round bye in the playoffs, and could be the #1 cede.

Hold on a minute.

"No way the Bears don't repeat"

Does that mean they do repeat or they don't?

They have a new DC coming in - actually he was promoted. He is keeping Bates' system, which he has studied for the past 5 years, with some tweaks which he considers to be "minor". Rumor is it may be a little more aggressive with the addition of Manuel and Hawk. Pickett was added too but the DT's are supposed to swallow up blockers so that's not as big of a deal.
On offense they are paring the scheme down a bit. They thought it became too complex and caused too much confusion between Favre and the receivers last year, which led to bad routes/passes. They are going to focus more on the running game (switching to a zone blocking scheme, which explains the more nimble guards drafted), and utilize the TE more in passing.

Double negative. Beats repeat in the OPs opinion.

Im not afraid of the pack as much as Im afraid of the vikes. But the pack can beat us with a bad team, just like we can take a bad team and beat a good pack. Its the nature of the rivalry. Of course... :footinmouth: The Favre pinnacle has even taken the majority of close games.

Everyones still writing off the lions for a lot of things, But they've gotten better aswell. So its going to be interesting to see which opponent is the toughest matchup.
