Don't this as me not liking TJ. I do. However this really sticks out to me. Jones doesn't get nearly as many 1st downs as he should for the amount of carries he got last year. Ball control is the name of our game. If our RB isn't moving the chains the game plan doesn't work.

good to see shaun on top for running backs . however i dont like this list, it includes a bunch of power backs that dont even start for their team, i think they should only have starters on here

meh... statistics.

These statistics don't show that every team knew we were going to run the ball every damn down and had a rookie, 3rd round QB that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

It doesnt help that the opponent knows that they can leave 2 men out on the secondary and play stop the run effectively against Kyle.

Thomas Jones was 5/10 on 3rd or 4th and 1. Those 5 first downs rank #24 in the league, and the conversion percentage is terrible. Shaun Alexander was 19/19. His 1.2 YPC in these situations was just miserable as well, and ranked ahead of only TJ Duckett on that list: http://www.footballguys.com/datadom.php?pt...att%2Brsh%2Brec

His 2/5 on 3rd or 4th and 2 isn't very good either: http://www.footballguys.com/datadom.php?pt...att%2Brsh%2Brec

He didn't get any carries in 3rd or 4th and 3....

And he was 0/5 on runs of 3rd and 4th and 4.

No, this is not a guy that can move the chains. He's a guy that will break a big one and give you big chunks of yardage at a time. It makes his end of game stats look decent, but he's not converting hardly ANY of the short yardage situations and is in the bottom half of the league there.

I like TJ too but he is overrated, he is only as good as his offensive line is, he is nothing special.

There's a reason we drafted Benson.

All are very good points. But I dont think TJ has hit his peak yet. His work ethic gets stronger every year. As long as he passes this whole contract year hump, hes gonna be an effective back.

Seems like he was moving the chains pretty dam well when we played the bears.. he was your offense.

It was early in the season and the Ravens were extremely hyped, but everyone thought the bears were in for another sub .500 season. The realization came crashing down on us when TJ put up 100+ yds. on us
