The way the NFL makes money, it's more than a safe bet.

An overrated tailback who will be easily replaced by a younger, faster, tougher tailback. A LB who has padded numbers because of the system he plays in. Losing those two is not going to kill us.
I'm not even worried about losing Jones. Briggs will be a bad loss if we lose him (which I think is likely) but we will live. [/b]

You've taken that negative media slant hook line and sinker havent you? TJ was our only trace of an offensive weapon last year, but he's not half as good as Cedric right?
Dumb**** Bears fan.

I don't know exactly how Thomas Jones is overrated, the guy does nothing but run hard and hit every hole with a burst of speed that gained him over 1300 yards last season. He's a stand-up guy and took the Benson thing pretty well last off season after the Bears pretty much ****ed him right in the *** and I agree, losing him would be like losing 35-40% of our offense. Can Benson clean up the slack? One would think so, but he's still an unproven in this league

Thomas Jones is produced by the O-line. He didn't work out in Arizona for that reason. There is a reason we drafted Cedric Benson with the 4th overall pick. Benson is tougher, faster and has more chance of playinga ll 16 games in a season that Jones.
Jones is an outstanding player but Cedric Benson is our future and present.
(You calling anyone "Dumb****" is like a turd telling a skunk that he smells bad. You are very arrogant and very immature.)

Jones ran hard and wuickly before his injury. Every year, he comes out on fire the first few games, then suffers his regular mid-season injury and never comes back 100%. The games after his bruised ribs last year, he was definitely not the same.
Maybe it is just me though. I like the tailbacks that will proudly and confidently run full speed into a linebacker and drive their legs for an extra 4 yards or even an extra inch. Cedric Benson is my kind of tailback. Thomas Jones is more of a quicker, elusive type of player. Not many tailbacks that weigh 225 pounds are as finesse as he is when running the football. He lacks power and toughness that are a must-have for a tailabck, IMO.

I would say that the one thing that Jones does not lack is toughness. He might not have the power that Benson (presumably) has, but whatever you want to say about Jones' bruised ribs it was still Benson that missed games last year, not Jones.

I'm trying to remember, oh yeah, didn't Jones come back after getting his knee banged up and play the following week, while Benson sat on the bench after coaches said he was good to go play. The coaches practically had to drag Benson on the field by his shirttail to play in the final Minnasota game.
Afterwards, he said he felt good running out there, but he did not want to be out there. I'd rather have a tough runningback, and so far Benson has not proved to me that he is anything but a prima donna whiner and a smacktalker.
