The mother of Brian Urlacher's 2-year-old son has claimed in a Will County Court filing this week that the Bears linebacker falsely testified that he showed up to pick up his son when he was actually somewhere else.
Tyna Robertson asked in her petition filed Wednesday that Urlacher be held in criminal contempt of court for testifying that he came to pick up their son on several occasions when his phone records and I-Pass records allegedly show he was not at those arranged meeting places, but in Arizona, Libertyville and Chicago.
If Urlacher is held in criminal contempt, he could be fined or sentenced to jail for up to six months for each violation, according to the petition.
"He was everywhere except where he testified he was," Robertson said after a brief hearing Thursday before Will County Judge Dinah Archambeault. "I'm just tired. I praying for all this to be over."
Robertson's latest filing was only briefly addressed at Thursday's status hearing on transporting the boy to visits with his father. Urlacher, who did not have to appear in court Thursday, was represented by his attorneys.
Almost from the time their son was born, Robertson and Urlacher have been engaged in ongoing court disputes over child support, parenting time and transportation.
Their most recent dispute is over transporting the boy from his mother's home in Joliet to his father's home in Lake Forest. They live 60 miles apart.
Earlier this year, Urlacher filed a petition asking that Robertson be held in both civil and criminal contempt of court for failing to transport their son to the proper meeting place so that he could see the boy.
Both Urlacher and Robertson have said in testimony that, on many occasions, they drive to a meeting place only to find that the other party is not there. Robertson has complained that she has to do most of the driving and to repeatedly shift her schedule to accommodate the father. Urlacher has complained that he is not able to parent his son and that Robertson refuses to obey the court's order to deliver the boy to him.
Robertson has already been found in civil contempt of court for failing to transport the boy and has been ordered go give Urlacher make-up time with their son. She still faces the criminal charges.
