Default Devin Wants To Be Paid, Unhappy

Quote:
According to Deion Sanders on the NFL Network's "Total Access," Bears KR/WR Devin Hester is unhappy with his contract and wants to be paid among the league's best.
Add him to the list of Bears including Brian Urlacher and Tommie Harris who are looking for new deals. Hester has two years remaining on his rookie contract and won't be an easy problem to solve, but the team is $16 million under the cap and would like to extend both Hester and Harris.

Leagues best what?

contract
noun |ˈkänˌtrakt|
a written or spoken agreement, esp. one concerning employment, sales, or tenancy, that is intended to be enforceable by law : both parties must sign employment contracts | a network of doctors and hospitals under contract to provide services.

So endeth the lesson.

Thats true, but are you going to say the same for Urlacher?Devin deserves a raise no doubt about it,the problem
is how does he see himself, a special teamer or as a receiver. There is no doubt that he should be paid as the best special teamer in the league(whatever that is?)

The problem is if he see's himself as the #1 receiver in the team which clearly he's not.I want to keep Devin happy but not at 6 or so Million a season, not until he can at least line up without help from other receivers.

At the moment i would pay him somewhere in between. He is far to valuable to either trade or make him feel he has to sit out any games.

I'd say that about anyone who has a signed legal contract - anybody.
The league has to start playing hardball with any ***** that doesn't abide by his legal word.
Guaranteed money, roster bonuses, workout bonuses, tackle bonuses, etc. It's ****ing sickening. If these guys were half of the gods-gift they think they are,
they'd be able to make this money doing something else, or, buy a team themselves and pay themselves what they believe they're worth.
Personally, I think the league should just start to impose life-long bans on anyone who doesn't live up to their end of the contract,
They can go play in China.

I totally agree, but i don't see the league getting involved at all. These guys have absolutely no interest in the team only themselves. Its not like we had a great season and won the SB.

If a team cuts a player, under contract, they take the cap hit and pay whatever the termination fee is stipulated in the contract, simple.
if a player refuses to honor his end of the deal, the team should be able to jettison him with no penalty, league imposes a lifelong ban - bye bye no more NFL for you - simple.
No one is forced by penalty of death to play, but you break a contact - good bye, best of luck to you.
