Default Week 1 against the Colts

Quote:
Sanders DB Out Jan 31 shoulder Questionable for minicamps
Latest News:
Colts S Bob Sanders (shoulder) and DE Dwight Freeney (foot) are expected to begin this summer on the training camp/PUP list. GM Bill Polian plans for Sanders to return during camp, while Freeney's status is less certain. It sounds like he's uncertain for Week 1, although it's hard to predict this early. LB Rob Morris and DT Anthony McFarland, both returning from knee surgery, are even less likely to be ready for Week 1.
This, along with the fact that Marvin Harrison is possibly going to be suspended for shooting at a person outside his bar, just adds ups for the Bears. Because of all these distractions, I think that the Bears will be able to pull this one off.

If we can escape the Pre-season with few or no injuries its possible, but while we have a QB by the name of Grossman, i tend to remain sceptical.

Well, you can't give ALL of the blame to Grossman. He does make some bad decisions, but if you look at ALL the best QB's in the league, take a look at their o-line and the receivers they have. Tony Romo, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, even Matt Hasselbeck... A QB is only as good as their o-line and the weapons they have.

Can you blame the O-line for his irritating fondness of fumbling the snap?Griese had to work with the same O-line and had far better stats.I still remember in 06 when the the O-line was pretty good that Grossman had a phenominal QB rating of 0.

And do you really believe that we have upgraded our offense this season to be effective?while we brought in Chris Williams which IMO is a good move he will take time to settle and get used to the pace of the NFL,as for the receivers its the weakest link apart from the QB position again we have bought in some fresh blood through the draft, but on average it takes a receiver 2-3 seasons to blossom.

In 06, our O-line really wasn't good. My health teacher, a center who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys a couple years back, then cut in the final round of cuts, watched all those fumbled stats that Grossman made, and he said that most of them actually were Olin Kreutz's fault. Olin Kreutz is a perenial pro-bowler, but he makes mistakes too, yet he remains uncriticized.

Honestly, I like Chris Williams, but the Bears didn't do enough for the offense... It drives me crazy that we didn't draft a guard until round 7. Without a G, our QB is going to get just as much pressure, from guys who are bigger than the DE's that usually pressure him, so really, our OL didn't get much better... I'm not saying that Grossman will be a great player, but I think that he has the chance to be more productive. But honestly, I'm tired of his crap, just like you, and I hope Orton becomes the starter, but honestly, we all know that Grossman is going to be the starter next season.

We might still be able to pick up a decent Guard when teams begin to cut down their rosters, and i have to admit that its the first time that i've heard Kreutz is at fault for Grossmans fumbling,my only response to that is why didn't it happen when Orton was playing?

Regardless of anything else welcome to the Bears Forum.

St. Claire is the starting guard this year get used to it since they aren't picking up anybody worth while that gets cuts, it's the same as picking the best piece of spoiled fruit.

Well, John St Clair wasn't that bad at guard last year. He's solid... A lot of teams move older tackles over to guard just because they aren't as strong and athletic as they used to be.

I guess you could say that since the only two that are still the same are Kruetz and Garza, and who knows Garze might even loose his job to some one else in training camp. So yeah it's the same line as last year.
