Chris Henry turned himself in at the Kenton County Justice Center around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday after the District Court Clerk issued an arrest warrant for the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver in the morning.
Henry, 23, reported with his attorney and posted a bond of $2,500. He had no comment as he made his way inside and has since been released.
The warrant is related to incidents alleged to have transpired at the Courtyard Marriott in Covington in April and the clerks office said he is charged with three counts of unlawful transaction with a minor.
Court officials said the charges stem from supplying three underage girls, whose ages ranged from 18 to 15 years old, with alcohol. They also indicated that there may be more charges to come.
Henry could get up to a year in jail and a $500 fine on each charge if convicted. The prosecutors office said he will be arraigned Thursday.
The initial investigation stemmed from a claim from one of the girls that Henry raped her in the hotel room. Monica Beamon, 18, later recanted the allegation and admitted that the sex was consentual.
Beamon has been charged with filing a false police report and had also recently been arrested on prostitution charges.
Monica's mother, Kimberly Beamon, said that her daughter couldn't remember anything from that night because she was too drunk. Kimberly has yet turn herself in to face the false report charges.
This is the latest incident in a series for the troubled wide receiver. In the past few months, Henry has been charged with drug possession, operating a vehicle under the influence and unlawful possession of a firearm.
That recent history may weigh heavily on the outcome of the investigation. "Criminal justice is to impose accountability, to get people to either quit offending the law or rehabilitate them. Obviously, his recidivism is of concern to the Commonwealth," Assistant Kenton County Attorney Kenneth Easterling said.
