A cart carried Carson Palmer off the field at Paul Brown Stadium after the Bengals quarterback suffered a devastating knee injury less than eight months ago in the team's AFC wild-card playoff game against Pittsburgh.

With a sellout crowd and ESPN television audience watching, Palmer will return to that field Monday night as he makes his preseason debut against the Green Bay Packers.

"I'm going to play," he declared Thursday. "We set out this date a while back and everything has been on schedule. I've been fortunate enough to progress from day to day, week to week."
