Bengals release DE Clemons

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Cincinnati Bengals released defensive end Duane Clemons on Friday, the day before the start of free agency.

Clemons played in 10 games last year and had 18 tackles, including two sacks. In three seasons with the Bengals, he played 40 games, starting 27, and totaled 109 tackles and 14.5 sacks.

Clemons was scheduled to make $1.35 million in 2006, the final year of his contract.

He missed last season's first four games for violating the National Football League's substance-abuse policy.

How a bum like that was making over a million is beyond me. I guess when the bengals signed him they had high hopes, but he ended up smoking them away.

He was a former 1st round draft pick from the vikings, When we had him he was fairly good.

He was a super flop for Minny, was a stud in college (first round pick) and had this GF that was like into some cult, and he had like depression issues or something. He never showed for camp and they found him stabbed with a knife in his underwear like in an alley or something...it was terrible LOL
