Bengals CB Hall gets plea deal in DUI case
Quote:
Steve Kemme of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports Bengals’ cornerback Leon Hall, who had been accused of drunken driving, pleaded guilty Monday to a less serious charge of reckless operation of a vehicle.
Clermont County Municipal Court Judge James A. Shriver handed down a 30-day jail sentence, but suspended all but three days. Hall must spend those three days in a residential driver intervention program.
Hall also must serve 64 hours of community service, pay a $250 fine and donate $500 to the USO (United Services Organization), a non-profit group dedicated to boosting the morale of American military troops around the world by providing entertainment, recreation and other services.
The sentence was part of a plea agreement reached between the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office and Hall and his attorney, Ed Perry.
The 24-year-old Anderson Township resident has no previous DUI convictions and no previous history of alcohol-related issues, Perry told the judge during the brief hearing Monday.
