Browns quarterback Brady Quinn not close to signing
cleveland.com: Everything Cleveland
Quote:
Quarterback Brady Quinn, who has held out the first three days of camp, is training in Arizona and does not appear close to signing a contract with the Browns.
General Manager Phil Savage said Sunday the two sides are "right there" on some things but that they just haven't been able to get it done yet.
He said he hopes that now all of Tom Condon's and Creative Artists Agency's top picks are in, Condon will concentrate on Quinn now.
CAA had 10 picks in the first two rounds, and all of them are signed -- except Quinn. Others in the first round include No. 7 Adrian Peterson of the Vikings, No. 11 Patrick Willis of the 49ers, No. 19 Michael Griffin of the Titans and No. 20 Aaron Ross of the Giants.
In the meantime, Quinn is away from the local coverage of his holdout. A source said he's been working out hard, is in great shape and will be ready to go when he gets here.
Condon, who could not be reached for comment, is adamant Quinn should receive the quarterback premium despite the fact he was picked No. 22 overall.
The Browns have contemplated having Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis call Quinn to encourage him to sign -- if Weis hasn't done so already. Weis and Browns coach Romeo Crennel are good friends, having been Patriots coordinators together.

I hate to say it, but their '97 team was better.

Watch them go 16-0 with Brady starting every game just to spite us.

Didn't realize the LSD got into this thread..
Lol, I could see the Browns winning 7 or 8 games though..it's possible..that would kinda suck..but IMO it's highly unlikely we don't get a top 10 pick next year.

Every time the browns lose a game is going to be a day worth celebrating. If we got a top 5 i'd be ECSTATIC.
