Browns Training Camp Log: Day 3

Quote:
What happened: The team had one fairly uneventful practice in full pads in front of several thousand fans. Two members of the national media stopped in on their camp tours, Peter King of Sports Illustrated and Chris Mortensen of ESPN. Mortensen said he counts the Browns as one of a handful of teams he thinks will show good progress this season.
Bodden shorn: Cornerback Leigh Bodden is missing his trademark long braids, but they went to a good cause: Bodden donated them to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for people who have lost their hair from chemotherapy.
"When I was going through my ankle injury, I was kind of feeling down on myself, but then I thought about all of the people who are a lot worse off than me," he said. "I just wanted to do something for someone who was in a bad situation."
Bodden, who is back in team drills after ankle surgery in March, said he cut off the 10-inch braids about a week before camp.
Not dropping responsibility: Second-year receiver Travis Wilson was hard on himself after practice for dropping a deep ball from Charlie Frye that was right in his hands.
"It's accountability," Wilson said. "When I get chance to make a play, whether it's a hard one or easy one, to me, when the ball's your way, you [have] got to catch it. Whether it hits my hand or it's the defense going to make a good play, I'm going to get mad at myself. Because I felt I let my teammates down and my coaches, so that's why I demand excellence, 100 percent out of me all the time. That's why I'm so critical of myself."
Quotable: Eric Steinbach, on Joe Thomas: "Very few guys can come in and make an impact right away on the offensive line, but I definitely think Joe has what it takes to do that."
Injury report: DeMario Minter (foot) and Gary Baxter (knees) did not practice.
