With Quinn out, Browns' QB contest a two-man race
With Quinn out, Browns' QB contest a two-man race - USATODAY.com
excerpt:
BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns coach Romeo Crennel planned to stage a three-man competition for his starting quarterback.
But with first-round pick Brady Quinn missing his 10th camp practice Thursday because of an impasse in contract negotiations, it is becoming more apparent that the Browns likely will open the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 9 with either incumbent Charlie Frye or Derek Anderson starting under center.
"What it has done," Crennel said of Quinn's absence, "is given Frye and Anderson more reps, given them an opportunity to take the bull by the horns to get a leg up. We know Brady is a good talent. That's why we chose him.

Quinn will sign before the season starts. But most rookoie players especially QBs will not be starters the first year. So whats the point?

Lol, I love this, the Browns are starting to get angry with him now too, my dream, would be for the Browns to cut him, and for him to go to the Giants, then he could start. The Giants had a chance to take him too. Taking Aaron Ross wasn't a bad nor a good decision, they had a huge hole at RB and should've taken someone under Peterson and Lynch who were the 2 standout backs.

I think it's a little too early to give up on Manning.
