Quinn: I'll Start This Year
Quinn: I'll Start This Year - Sports Blog - The FanHouse
Quote:
Brady Quinn may profess some bizarre confusion about how the world of NFL contracts work, but he is clear on one thing--before this season is over he'll be the Browns starting quarterback.
Quinn is confident he'll be starting at some point during his first season as a pro.
"Without a doubt," he said.
Quinn was able to practice for the first time since signing on Wednesday night but since that practice was closed we'll all get to see our first look at him on Thursday.
Maybe Quinn has gotten reports on Derek Anderson and Charlie Frye's struggles during training camp, but it seems more likely he's just an extremely confident rookie. Now we'll have to see how his new teammates react to a rookie who not only held out but also showed up to camp announcing that he's going step in and start soon. Quinn may believe that, but the smart move is to say "I'm just going to work hard, but that decision is up to the coaches."
It likely won't make a difference in the long run, but in the short term Quinn continues to not do himself any favors.

There is no need to throw him to the fire yet, all it will do it put pressure on him to be the best out there and then what will happen he will be consider a bust for have a bad season.

He will start, they will suck, and they will give him some reps.

I don't think he will handle the pressure though, and that will just lower his confidence.

I'd love to see Quinns first start. The NFL likes to welcome rookie QBs by blitzing them.

Defenses always lick their chops when they get a rookie.
