Default LeCharles Bentley Carted off the Field

excerpt:

BEREA, Ohio -- Pro Bowl center LeCharles Bentley, one of Cleveland's biggest free-agent signings this winter, injured his left knee during the Browns' first 11-on-11 drill of training camp on Thursday.

Bentley got tangled in a pile of players as he was blocking on a running play for Reuben Droughns.

Bentley screamed, "No," before remaining on his knees as the Browns moved their scrimmage up the field so the 6-foot-2, 309-pounder could be attended to. He stayed on the ground in a seated position for several minutes before Cleveland's medical staff immobilized his left knee and carted him to the locker room.

Doesn't look good for Browns, I bet they wish they kept Faine now.

HAHA, I always hated him because he never wanted to be a Saint, now he goes where he always wanted to be and gets hurt before the season. Serves him right.

looks like he is done:

THE NEWS
A source close to Browns center LeCharles Bentley told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that it appears Bentley will miss the entire 2006 season after tearing the patellar tendon in his left knee during the team's first practice of training camp. The Browns have not confirmed the injury, but GM Phil Savage is scheduled to address the media prior to the team's afternoon practice.

Our View
This is devastating news for the Browns, who appeared to be turning the corner towards respectability after an active offseason. And it's even worse news for Reuben Droughns, who will see the bottom fall out of his fantasy value without the Pro Bowl center opening holes for him.
