Default Frye to start

Romeo Crenell announced that rookie Charlie Frye, not Trent Dilfer, will start this week against the Bengals. It's gonna be tough on the kid for sure. It's not likely to me that Cleveland will have a shot at winning, but Frye will be lucky not to throw 12 interceptions against the Cincinnati defense. Crenell expects Dilfer will retire, so it makes since to have a replacement trained, but this is more like throwing him into the fire. Just my thoughts.

I wonder how that went in the locker room, "Hey Frye you get to start this week it is going against the Bengals. Oh and by the way Edwards will not be playing either."

Yeah. Harsh words to say to a rookie. I don't think there's any way Crenell can expect him to win, but if he can even somewhat handle the pressure that the Bengals D-line will be giving him, he can still prove himself even without winning. A shame the Browns couldn't get more mileage out of Dilfer. I've always liked that guy...

I always thought he was being wasted being a backup QB. He might not be able to win a lot of games himself but I always thought that he would not be the reason the team lost.

He's a proven veteran with a Super Bowl ring.. That's more than most of today's Pro Bowlers have.
