Default Road to backup QB takes turns

The backup quarterback battle is so close that coach Romeo Crennel might alternate Ken Dorsey and Derek Anderson at No. 2 from week to week.

"That could be close throughout the season," said Crennel. "One game, one guy might be No. 2, and the next game, that might change."

Crennel said the team is comfortable heading into the season with Dorsey and Anderson as the backups.

I am not comfortable with either guy. Dorsey has poor mechanics and Anderson plays against 3rd string defenses. They missed the boat and could have gotten Collins. The reality of the situation is they will loose Frye at some point to injury and one of those inconsistent guys will have to step in.

my worry with collins would be that he would want to be a #1 and end up a distraction and possibly even worse-a QB controversy.

the number two needs to be someone who knows his role I think.

I would have been happy w/Collins as #1 with the idea that he doesnt make it a full season because he probably gets injured due to poor blocking and I think he could help mentor Frye. Mute point now though.

IMO you could find a better guy for that role than Collins

when was the last time a browns QB played a full season?(started and completed all 16 games) and better yet, how many times has it happened since they have been back in the league? And the final question..... when have they had a worse o-line than they have now? Center by commitee d-linemen playing guard ....its a trainwreck.
