Browns Anderson sits out Brown's afternoon practice

Quote:
Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal reports Browns quarterback Derek Anderson sat out the second of two mandatory minicamp practices Friday with an apparent leg injury. The team would not give details afterward.

Anderson came up limping after scrambling to find an open receiver in the morning session, but was able to finish the practice. His last pass in the two-minute drill was intercepted by safety Mike Adams.

But after lunch, Anderson wore a sleeve on the lower right leg and had difficulty jogging downfield. He worked with injured teammates Jamal Lewis, Steve Heiden and Braylon Edwards at the start of drills.

Anderson later put on his helmet to hear the plays being called over the headset, but watched the team portion from the side. He did not throw in individual quarterback drills.

When the team concluded the evening with a two-minute drill, Brett Ratliff was the second quarterback working behind Brady Quinn.
