Default Defend Your Position

Some of you here say that the SEC is overrated. I challenge you to present a valid argument based on objective factors in this thread to support your position. Also, if you claim that the SEC is overrated then what conference is better? Support your position if you dare, and I will counter and destroy your claims.

The Sun Belt can beat the SEC. Proof: Fla 27, ULLF 20.... That game almost went into OT. There, will you shut up now?

Can beat.....they didn't. Almost went.....it didn't.

Here's something that's just as retarded.......the MAC Conference is better than the Big 10. Proof: Ohio 24 Penn St. 14

The BCS is overrating some SEC teams......there's no way in hell LSU, USC and TAMU should be ahead of FSU in the standings. Now once FSU beats UF, let's see if the BCS (computers mainly) gets it right and places them above those 4 SEC teams.

Clemson has a better computer ranking than a team that wiped the floor with them.....that should tell you something.

SEC Has 6 teams in the Top 9. South Carolina at 9 ahead of two one-loss teams from the ACC? Maybe there's a reason there are so many one or two loss SEC teams. Who have they played?

Answer-
Georgia: Buffalo & Florida Atlantic- Both at home
South Carolina: East Carolina & UAB- Both at home
LSU: North Texas, Washington & Idaho- All at home
Florida: Bowling Green and LaLafeyette- Both at home
Texas A&M: SMU, SC State & La-Tech (Amazingly, La-Tech was a road game)

Now look at some of the scores- A&M over La-Tech by 2; Florida over La-Lafeyette by 7; Lowly Buffalo scored 23 against that awesome SEC defense; Towson scored 22 vs LSU (and the Tigers beat 2 & 8 Auburn by 2 points).

Compare that to the schedule Notre Dame has played or for that matter, even K-State. At least the 'Cats had the cojones to play a road game at Miami.

If you want us to stop being skeptical, have your conference man up and play some decent OOC road games.

The Miami game was in Manhattan, KS. They played in Miami last season.

lol I agree FL State and Clemson should be ranked higher, but at least they get to prove it at the end of the year against FL and SC.

1. Notre Dame does not play in a conference, so how does ND being undefeated proves anything about the SEC?

2. You listed several close games by the SEC against weaker teams, but who has played more close games than Notre Dame? 20-17 Purdue, 13-6 Mich, 20-13 Stanford, 17-14 BYU, 29-26 Pit(3OT)

3. K State did not play any OOC road games this year. They played FCS Missouri State, Miami, and North Texas all at home. So try again

If the SEC is overrated where is the proof?

Where's the proof that the SEC is the best?

Because of the way their schedule their non-conference games, there isn't much. Alabama over Michigan? Washington losing at LSU? That's pretty much it, right?

Trying to change the question won't help you, and I will answer that anyway.
The SEC has 3 OOC wins over BCS top 25 teams.

B12: none
B10: none
ACC: none
P12: 1
Big East: none

So 1 top 25 win combined for all the other AQ conferences.

So technically, the SEC has defeated three times as many ranked OOC opponents as all 4 of the other big conferences combined.

So again I ask all of you who declared that the SEC is overrated, where's the proof or at least make a decent argument.
