Default All Conference should have Conference Championship Games

Or should they? With the playoffs coming up in a few years, some teams having an extra game against a likely ranked opponent will make them more atrractive to a selection committee than those that don't.

Can't see the post, but I actually agree with the title. When the playoff starts in 2014, in my opinion every team that wants to be eligible should have to win a conference championship game. That would keep the regular season meaningful. If you can't win your conference, you shouldn't be playing for a national championship.

I understand where you're coming from, but let's say Team A wins its Conference with 3 losses and Team B has 1 loss, that loss being to the undefeated Conference Champion.....should Team A automatically receive more consideration?

Haha, yeah I blocked him a year ago. He gives real Bama fans a bad name, and I got sick of his garbage. Still have to see his topics and posts when they're quoted though. Any way to fix that?

For someone who claims they have me blocked, you're usually one of the first ones to respond to my threads or posts. That's pretty funny.

I posted this a while ago on athlon. but in my opinion, it depends.

If all conferences were 10 teams, then they could play a round robin and we can develop an 8 team play off (which has the same number of games as a conference champ game + a 4 team playoff). So a conference champ game would not be necessary, but the requirement to be in the 8 team playoff would be required to win the conference.

If conferences continue to expand, and they want to include all of the teams (which is more likely than reducing the conferences to 10), then the conferences need to expand to 20 teams, 10 in each division, and you would have the winner of the 4 super-conferences to create a 4 team playoff.

Its possible, but that is my answer to solve a problem if a problem were to actually want to be solved.

I'd also say that any conference with more than 9 members should play 9 conference games.
