National Championship Scenarios
Coming off the most chaotic day of college football since the final day of 2007, I figured I would shed light on the NCG outlook. I know how the system works, so this is just fact and not personal opinion.
BCS Standings tomorrow night:
1 Notre Dame
2 Alabama
3 Georgia
4 Florida
1 loss Oregon, 1 loss KSU, 1 loss FSU, 1 loss Clemson, 2 loss A&M, 2 loss LSU, 2 loss SC are still blips on the radar but are on the outside looking in.
Notre Dame only has a game at USC left next week. Florida plays FSU next week. UGA has GT (shouldnt be close, but need to be aware of it).
What really hurts Oregon is that Stanford has the inside track to win the North. If they beat UCLA next week, then they get UCLA in P12CG the following week. If UCLA beats Stanford next week, Oregon is in the picture IF FSU beats Florida.
Here are possible scenarios (UGA beating GT, Bama beating Aub, and Org beating OSU are givens)
> Notre Dame wins, they are in vs Bama/UGA champ.
(all of the following are predicated on Notre Dame losing)
> Florida beats FSU, Bama beats UGA, then the NCG is Florida vs Alabama (not a rematch).
> FSU beats Florida, then the chaos scenario is upon us. Take a one loss Oregon non P12 champ, one loss FSU (their SofS is so bad they arent going to get in). One loss ND might still be in the mix here.
Just think if Ohio State wasnt ineligible. We could be looking at ND vs OSU.

KSU shouldn't even be a blip......getting blown out by a 4-5 team is inexcuseable.

ESPN just showed Brad Edwards projections, and he has KSU at #4 ahead of Florida. If FSU didnt collapse in the 2nd half against NC State. I am positive an undefeated Big East team would be behind most one loss teams, so Louisville or Rutgers shouldnt have any regrets over their losses. Moot point.

Florida vs Alabama in title game would make this board explode.

The biggest difference between Bama vs Florida and Bama vs LSU, is that last year was a rematch. Bama vs Florida would not be a rematch. Still all-SEC which would frustrate 95% of the fans. I want the two best teams to be in the NCG. I dont care on the conference. If Florida beats FSU and Oregon doesnt win the P12, I really think Florida belongs as the #2 team.
I just got a scorecenter update on my iPhone and it said that Notre Dame would be a 10 point dog to Bama in the NCG.

I don't think the BCS will allow another non-division winning team to play for the BCS NC again, plus UF'll lose to FSU this week.

I hope Florida is favored against FSU, I am betting the farm on FSU.

UF'll probably be a 7 point dog.
