I understand Ohio State isn't bowl eligible, but that doesn't affect the AP. We should be ranked 2nd at least.

Even though 95% of us dont like it, the AP is still a recognized source. If OSU wins the AP, they can still officially claim a national championship. They have already won their division title, they are officially the 2012 Leaders Champions.

With that being said, the only way OSU win the AP is if a non-SEC one loss team wins the NCG. One loss SEC will still be ahead of OSU. Their best case would be if a non-P12 champ Oregon sneaks into the NCG and gets an ugly win, or possibly a one loss ND or KSU.

That's exactly why the AP means little. They are ineligible to play for the title, but could still claim one based on opinion? Stupid, and not something even worth mentioning.

Then why did you mention it? Auburn went undefeated in 93 while on probation and finished 3rd in AP, so if you cheat you don't get rewarded.
