Who do you feel should play the SEC champ in the NCG if USC beats ND and FSU beats Florida?

FSU or Oregon would be ok with either provided that Oregon only has 1 loss.

I thought you said that a non-conference champ should never play for the title like Bama did last year. Typical hypocrite not surprising from you though.

Won't happen unless FSU, Oregon and KSU all lose again. Even then, I think one loss ND would still go over LSU if they at least play a close game. The best shot at an all SEC NC game again, would be Florida. If USC beats ND, Stanford beats UCLA and Florida beats FSU, we'd be looking at one loss non conference champions Oregon and Florida to match up with Georgia/Alabama. Then you have to start looking at those two teams against each other. Oregon is probably the better team, has looked more impressive and doesn't come from the same conference. Even SEC fans would have to admit they'd rather see Oregon go. Beating Oregon means a lot more than beating someone from your own conference, especially if Georgia is the SEC team left standing. Don't want another rematch. I hate to say it, but we could be looking at another NC game where one team didn't even win their own conference, and possibly another all SEC NC game. Have to love college football.

If ND loses and Florida wins, Gators should be pulling for Bama to win because a certain contingent of people don't want a rematch. Georgia/Florida would be a rematch, Florida/Alabama would not be. It really doesn't matter though, Florida's strength of schedule will easily be #1. No other one loss team can catch them.

Exactly right, and exactly what is wrong with the current system. Bias gives them that strength of schedule more than anything. I've watched Florida play all year, and they shouldn't even be a top ten team. Their best, and I'd argue only relevant win was over Texas A&M in their first game of the season. Florida benefits from SC and LSU being extremely over ranked, along with most of the SEC. You don't beat a mid level Sun Belt team on a last second blocked punt and get to play for a NC, or at least outside of the SEC you don't.

This is why I'm so against a non conference champion playing for a NC. Even Oregon really shouldn't be involved if Stanford wins Saturday, but I think they deserve to go more than Florida. I'll be rooting for FSU and UCLA this weekend. Georgia/Alabama against Oregon sounds a lot more fun than watching Florida try to remember how to play offense.

It's not about what is more fun, it is about which two teams deserve to go based on their schedule and what they have done with it. Andy Staples at SI has A&M ranked second which is asinine.

What are your guys' thoughts on Georgia? They got crushed by SC but beat Florida (Fla had 6 TO I believe). I just don't see how Alabama won't win the NCG this year.

Ga often plays lower than their talent level and have a history of choking in more big games than even ChOklahoma. Aaron Murray is only 2-8 versus top 25 teams in his career. IF, they finally play to their potential they could give Bama a really good game, but that rarely do that.

If FL beats FL State they will have 4 wins of top 15 teams and that's pretty impressive.
