I think four is the perfect number. If it was 8 or 12, then it really waters down the regular season. Four still keeps that do or die feeling each week. With 8 or more, premier teams could have two losses and still be in. Plus you know undefeated gets you in, so just water down your schedule as much as possible. Absolutely zero incentive to play ranked OOC games.
I have been anti playoff and pro-BCS for ever (actually I really miss the old system) but I understand how the sport has evolved over the last 20 years and I think the four teamer is the natural fit for todays game.

Four teams still leaves room for it to be a popularity contest. We've seen a two loss NC. Did they not deserve to be there? Who in the top 8 right now doesn't deserve a shot? FSU has one loss and still isn't in the top 8. Also, what's to stop teams from watering down their schedule right now? Any undefeated major programs are pretty much a lock.

The thought behind this is that if UGA or Bama lost this week and then won the SEC championship the next week, they would knock both #2 and #3 out of the NCG.
If FSU beat Fla and Stan beats UCLA (thereby Oregon doesnt win the North), it would be neck and neck between Oregon, KSU, and FSU for the NCG. And maybe two of those would make it if ND loses. If ND wins, then if the SEC is knocked out, Oregon, KSU, and FSU would still have a chance. If UGA and Bama both win this week, then the SEC champ is in the NCG without question.

Nice try. If we take the top 8, we will get 4 or 5 SEC teams in from time to time. You guys will still be complaining. KSU doesnt deserve to be in the top 8, they aren't that good, they just play in an overrated conference. The nonBCS teams dont deserve to be in with their schedules. Top four is perfect.

Nice try with what, not agreeing with you? Top four is far from perfect. Like I said, it's still a beauty pageant. I'd take 4/8 over 2/2 any day of the week. Hell, we could see 3/4 from the SEC getting in as it sits in 2014. Not even close to a valid argument. KSU deserves a chance to play for it as much as any other one loss team, and certainly more than the two loss teams. Non BCS teams don't deserve a chance, but a team like Kentucky does if they somehow pulled a season out of their rears? They deserve it less than any number of the horrid ACC or Big East teams? Same old argument, and we all know it's garbage. The only valid argument against it is preserving the regular season. Last year showed us even the two team show we have now doesn't do that, so how will minimizing it to four teams work?

Sorry Vest, can't talk right now, too busy. Watching the Iron Bowl and the best team in the country just scored again.

Second best until at least about 11pm EST, if not longer. I'd argue third, maybe fourth best as well.

And I would argue that you need to put Rosetta Stone "English" on your x-mas list.

I'd argue you need to grab a dictionary and look up "class" and "manners". I'd argue that being an "English" major, your grammar and sentence structure should be correct. I'd argue that your comment made no sense.
