Personally, I think it's a step backwards. I know most will say "but it's the SEC!!!" I'm well aware it's the SEC, and if this were say Tennessee, Auburn or Arkansas I could understand the move....but Kentucky? They weren't even patient with their own (Joker Phillips). 3 years and he'll be back to being a DC. Bad move in my opinion.

Based on Marks HS contacts from being in a deep southern pipeline, he'll do well in a few short years! Just wait and see! Top in the SEC? Probably not but he'll give reason for the Cats to be much more respectable! I think Mark can do some nice things for this program in time...

No, he was in no way FSU's main recruiter. Most of the recruits have been recruited by James Coley & Dameyune Craig.

Don't be surprised if Venables ends up at FSU......heard he's not happy at Clemson, but the 800K price tag might be a problem.
