A restaurant my wife and I like to eat at is over in Alabama. I was wearing an Ohio State shirt, which always sparks conversation down here. This time it was an older guy wearing an Alabama polo. We talked a little about Ohio State and their season, Urban Meyer and what could have been. Then we switched to the NCG. I told him I thought Bama was about to win another one. He surprised me by saying he thought Notre Dame might actually be the best match up of the season, something I actually agree with. We talked a little about both teams, I told him good luck and he said likewise next season.

Kind of a lame and off topic story, but what a great fan. If only all of the SEC fans were the same.

Most of the SEC fans that are rowdy and unclassy are probably the young t-shirt wearing, band wagoners.

It's always a good feeling to know that this game and it's fans still show class.

Oh, I agree and I wasn't trying to knock all SEC fans. We surely have our share up in Columbus. I guess it's mostly because I'm in the middle of SEC country now, but I notice it more. Lots of the younger generation of Marines tend to be obnoxious fans too, haha.

Anyways, getting a little off topic now.

I don't know what you are trying to get at? I predicted my team to win and 11 pts is a comfortable margin. I really don't care if they only win by 1. We have a coach who is 3-0 in championship games and a qb who has won an SEC title and a National title already along with most of the starters. That's all the faith I need.

haha, really? There is no coach better with time to prepare than Saban. Plus it gives Bama time to heal and rest up nagging injuries from the SEC title game.

I'm on this Sports Talk forum on a social network......it has to be the biggest SEC circle jerk ever. So I asked them if their lives were consumed by SEC football, their response was "what else is there to do?" To make a long story short, I'm glad I grew up "up North."
