There were plenty of bowl spots, all eligible teams with winning records made a bowl game, and even the 6-6 teams made it. LA Tech at 9-3 did not. They were invited and they turned down bids because they wanted a better bowl invite. The bowls filled up and they were left without a spot. I would be so pissed if I was a player.

Now that TCU is in a big time conference, have you become an elitist like some of us already are? Are you anti little guy? I would think TCU and Boise would support their small school brethren.

I'm glad NIU got in. Good for them for once. They deserve it. Jordan Lynch is a pretty good QB, even though, yeah, he hasn't really faced the best of defenses.

No, I will still probably cheer for NIU. I don't have a problem with inviting nonAQ teams. My issue is with the quality of this particular team which I don't believe is on the same level as most of the other non-AQ teams that have been invited in the past. Basically, I consider NIU (or Kent State had they been selected) to be more like Hawaii than TCU, Boise, and Utah of past teams. Any elitist perspective I have would be simply that I don't feel the MAC conference is at the same level as the MWC had been or even the WAC and so a top record in that conference doesn't carry the same cache.
