Default 2013 Schedules

I was looking through the 2013 schedules and Ohio St and Alabama's both caught my eye. Both will be very manageable and the teams have the talent to run the table.

ALABAMA:
Virginia Tech
@ Texas A&M
Colorado State
Ole Miss
Georgia St
@ Kentucky
Arkansas
Tennessee
LSU
@ Miss State
Chattanooga
@ Auburn

OHIO STATE:
Buffalo
San Diego State
@ California
Florida A&M
Wisconsin
@ Northwestern
Iowa
Penn State
@ Purdue
@ Illinois
Indiana
@ Michigan

Obviously the A&M game will be interesting but I see them winning fairly easy. The LSU game is always tough. Other than that, I don't see any competition.

As for OSU, I see absolutely NOBODY standing in their way. I don't see UM, MSU or Wisc stepping up next year and really giving them a challenge.

The only way I don't see an Bama-OSU title game is if Bama trips up in the SEC CCG....or another conference has an undefeated team

Wow, they miss the top 3 in the SEC East again.

Yeah they do. SEC has no plans to go to a nine game schedule. Why should they, it guarantees 7 more losses for their teams and it would take a home game away from half the teams. With the four team playoff coming, SEC will be a lock to get in two teams every year.

I wish the Big XII would hurry up and expand. With them being the only major conference without a CCG, we need to get an even playing field (relatively speaking; monetarily it will never be equal and shouldn't be).

Ohio State has a very soft schedule next year, a great team returning and lots of young talent will be worked in. I think they will be playing for a NC next year. It's funny, when I said they could go undefeated this year and win a NC next year everyone thought I was crazy. Urban Meyer vs Nick Saban again would be outstanding, and I'd love to see Ohio State play Alabama.

They've played Florida, Georgia and SC within the last few years.

I don't fault Bama for their schedule. It is an even rotation and is fair for all the teams over a 10 year (or whatever the duration is) period. There is still the SEC CG, so there are plenty of hurdles.

Vest - anytime someone claims their team is going undefeated most people ignore it. Even though you were right, a lot of times our fan hood trumps reality when we make predictions. No offense to SMT but when we was talking about a big year for Missouri, I didn't try to burst his bubble. I fell into the trap too, I thought 8 wins was the worst case scenario for Iowa. Good call though on OSU.

I think Bama and OSU are the front runners. Oregon will be solid, as will a few SEC teams (LSU/UGA/Fla). I think ND gets at least two losses. The teams at the top of the Big XII all lose a lot. Okl and KSU will take a step back but Texas and TCU will take a step forward. Any one of six teams could win it, likely going 10-2. Big East won't produce an undefeated, Boise and Lou likely play twice. Even if BE did have an undefeated it would be behind one loss power teams. ACC won't do anything for the 13th straight year. Plus FSU and Clem still play Fla and SC at the end of the year so even if one of them runs the ACC table, their ceiling is the Orange.

I agree, and I probably hoped they'd run the table as much as I actually thought they would.

Looking at it though, it wasn't a hard call to make. Much easier than ND for sure. Their OOC was a joke, and that's probably an understatement. Last year at 6-7, they were really in most every game. That was with Fickell and Bollman having no clue what an offense was or how to use Miller. Urban Meyer was the best thing that could have happened, and at the perfect time. I actually had it backwards though. I thought at the beginning, the defense would pull the team while the offense struggled to find a groove. It turned out to be the exact opposite.

Either way, it was a great season and a nice step towards next season.
