All-American Center, Barrett Jones thinks that most players went through the drill in 2011 and veterans like him were part of the 2009 championship team is "overrated" in getting ready for this one. Here is what he had further to say...

"The fact that Alabama has been in the national championship before, that is not going to help us once the ball is snapped!"

As I have stated time and time again, doesn't matter what happened your last 60 minutes of ball, the 60 minutes of play before that and nor in the last 10-14 years of CFB history!

Football and life itself, is to be lived and experienced for the moment and in this case, in just 60 minutes of ball! That is what is really the essence of revelance for this game...

I don't know why that's shocking or even a concession, its more of a factual statement based on the actual BCS rankings. The only time that being #1 matters is after the game on Jan 7th. Other than that its just a target on your back. Bama has historically played at its best when ranked #2 in title games like last year and in 1992.

Based on how this season played out Notre Dame should be #1 for now.

I don't think either team has an advantage in the area of mentality. Notre Dame is a big underdog and they know they have to play their absolute best game to win. Good mentality for Notre Dame. Alabama lost one of the last regular season games to bring them back to reality. They know now that they don't just automatically win games because they have more talent/size/speed/physicality. Bama too will have to play their best game to win. Don't forget that ND actually has a better defense on paper and they played a formidable schedule, not too much different than Bama's schedule. Both teams will be fired up. Bama has the advantage but the Irish Defense will give them a chance.

Stats? You mix game and a individual season stats which is irrelevent to past CFB Historical stats. Now is for now, like this season and this NCG with these two individual teams. Talking about keeping things in proper context?...

I only brought up Vegas's obvious perspective cause you SEC'ers and Vegas for now, always seem to agree! Thing is, Vegas doesn't always wash!... ???

Kinnick, I have been mulling this around for the last two days whether to tell you or not too. After laughing about it for a good while today, I thought WTH, I should give credit, where credit is due!...
