Whereas Bama has been successfully through it twice in the last three years, they can just get to Miami and go to work. One trend that I can't ignore is past NCG appearances for teams. FSU won 99 then lost 00. Okl won 00 then lost 03, 04, 08. Miami won 01 then lost 02. Ohio St won 02 then lost 06, 07. USC won 04 then lost 05. Texas won 05 then lost 09. LSU won 03 and 07 then lost 11. Alabama has won 09, 11... I see a trend. It seems like the first time a team makes it they are very hungry. I'm not saying the opponent isn't hungry, I don't know if overconfidence or complacency sets in.
What are your guys thoughts?
In the interest of full disclosure, FSU did lose 98.

"The fact that Alabama has been in the national championship before, that is not going to help us once the ball is snapped!"
As I have stated time and time again, doesn't matter what happened your last 60 minutes of ball, the 60 minutes of play before that and nor in the last 10-14 years of CFB history!
Football and life itself, is to be lived and experienced for the moment and in this case, in just 60 minutes of ball! That is what is really the essence of revelance for this game...
I look forward to watching this NCG...

Thing is, most of the country will agree with Jones and I!...

Kinnick, I have been mulling this around for the last two days whether to tell you or not too. After laughing about it for a good while today, I thought WTH, I should give credit, where credit is due!...
Every holiday season various members from abroad call us and wish us "Happy Holiday Greetings", as many of us experience this every year! Naturally!...
It just so happened that he called me the evening on the day that you made your post above. I have obviously collected it, to move on with this recent 48 hour development for this post and the rest of this story...
He always wants to discuss football, imagine that? Being that he is the SID of one of the three broadcasting biggies in this country. I brought up your post in subject and out of nowhere he ran with it and told me that it gave him an idea for a up coming interview piece that they had on the schedule at their affiliate national sports network...
I thought, if I was to tell Kinnick, he would never believe me then, I thought what the he((, I need to give some credit where it is due!...
He called me Thursday night and told me to watch a interview piece on Saban that would air this weekend!...
After watching it this morning, I was grinning from ear to ear and laughing histerically!... Too funny man!... He has never reacted to anything in our discussions to be considered as an idea in a sports broadcast piece like this!... LOL!...
The interview will re-run probably til the NCG!... I'm sure! Man, I could not believe it! Kinnick...this is probably as close of a brush as you'll ever get to sports media fame! Hahahaha!...
Sorry dude!... I don't care if you believe this or not!... I know the truth!...
Really dude, I mean this when I say this, "Merry Christmas!"...
Nick and Barrett don't see eye to eye with ya but I got to hand it to you, for giving a good idea to someone, somewhere who knew what to do with those thoughts!... LOL!...
We'll just keep this where it belongs!... NO WHERE!...
Remaining in the FBF threads forever!... LOL!...
I'll remember this forever!...
