Quiet
You'd think with the bowl games, LSU's loss, the rout of Florida, and Oregon's domination of the Big-12 champ, there'd be some conversation in here...

With Florida getting blasted by a team that lost to UConn and LSU looking inept against Clemson, TAMU's record suddenly looks pretty soft. Before the other bowls, I would have picked TAMU to win, but now I'd give the Sooners 7 points.
Another good discussion would be that the new playoff system may have left Oregon out. After last night's game, the Ducks are clearly the second best team in the country, if not the best. We'll have an eight team playoff before 2020 -- and Hawks (aka kinnick) and I will be pining for the BCS days when every game mattered.

With as many teams eligible as college football has, every game will still matter just as much as it does now. Only difference is that we don't have to argue over who has the best loss or which conferences should get more credit for their loss.
I don't see how Oregon would have been left out. They finished 4th. Or are you saying they'd have been voted lower in the playoff?

The 4 playoff teams will be picked by a selection committee with an emphasis on conference championships -- so, hypothetically, Stanford and Kansas State may have been picked over Oregon.

Maybe. I don't think so though. If it was between those three, Oregon goes every time. Kansas State would get passed over because of what Baylor did to them, and Stanford lost to Washington. The real screwed up part is Florida would have gone simply because they play in the SEC.

They would have gone b/c they were 11-1 and beat a highly ranked FL ST along with 4 other top 15 teams. Everybody can't have a schedule like Ohio St where they don't play any teams that will finish in the top 25.
And the really really screwed up part is that Texas A&M would have not have been in a four team playoffs because they play in the SEC.

Who's to say they have more of a right to go over Bama, Oregon, ND, or any other team that was up near the top?

I think A&M could beat anyone right now, except maybe Oregon. 8 or 12 teams is needed.
