After his game against Oklahoma St today, this kid is the best freshman RB to take college football by storm since maybe Marshall Faulk?. Seriously I cannot remember a freshman this good.
This kid better be one of the top 5 in NYC at the Heisman cermonies. He may not win the trophy, but should invited to NYC.
ESPN said " If Adrian Peterson isn't in NYC for the Heisman ceremony after this, then voters have a serious bias against freshmen." This was today after his performance. He is the only candidate who is really shining and performing on a high level.

He has been the best player in the country all year. No doubt he deserves to be there.

ESPN would need Peterson to miss out on an invite to NYC to realize the Heisman voters have a bias towards freshmen? Where the **** have they been all these years?
What about the bias against defensive players, offensive linemen or WRs that don't play special teams?
There are a ****load of players in NCAA football. Am I to believe that with all these players the best player in the country for the past 4 years running has been a QB?
Seriously though, it's a bull**** award and has been for a number of years.

Peterson's so much better than Calrett was, it's not even funny.
For one...Peterson isn't running for over 100 yards against San Diego State and Marshall. He's torching top defenses like they are standing still.

I never said Clarrett was as good. I KNOW he isn't. I was answering the question... he was a freshman who took the nation by storm and was, at one point, considered by the nation a Heisman candidate.

Deeb, I did think about Clarett, but he didnt enthuse me that much. That was before his scandal. Ohio State was more known for thier defense and he wasnt hyped like Peterson was coming out of high school. I know he was Mr. Football in Ohio, but that doesnt sound as juicy as dissing Texas to go to Oklahoma, when you are from Texas.

They were just talking about Heisman candidates on a break in the Auburn/Ole Miss game, and they didn't even mention Peterson. I missed the context of the question because I am on the computer too, but they said that Leinart was "head and shoulders" above everyone else. Then, just now on SC, they said something about Peterson possibly running away with it in the intro to the show. I don't get ESPN.
