Right now, I would rank the BCS teams as such

1. USC - reigning champs and still unbeaten...
2. Auburn - anyone who beats the hell out of Georgia like THAT is a dominating team. If they get through the SEC unbeaten, they should be in the championship game.
3. Oklahoma - the mediocrity of the Big 12 North could be their schedule's achilles' heel.
4. Virginia - The champion of the most balanced conference in college football. That is, if they beat Virginia Tech.
5. Michigan - Big Ten champs, from the looks of things.
6. West Virginia - or whoever wins the Big (L)East....this conference needs to be removed from the BCS, and NOW.
7. Texas - Longhorns look tough since losing yet again to the Sooners.
8. Cal - Probably the best one-loss team in the nation.

Utah - on the outside looking in, hoping that Texas or Cal slip.

Your take?

From what I understand...Utah is only there if they make it to #6. Anything other than an automatic BCS bid is all for naught.

Your take?
1--Oklahoma - They have the best offense in College football; the best QB in college football (Jason White is probably the favorite in my book to win the Heisman); but most importantly, the freshman phenom Adrian Peterson who gives OU the balance they didnt have last year. Plus, their secondary may be weak, but I wouldnt count out Bob Stoops in a big game---I really believe this team is on a mission now.

2--USC - I think they are slightly overrated, but you cant argue the defending champs/longest winning streak thing. Like California, USC has coasted because of the down year the Pac 10 is having. Reggie Bush is the most dynamic player in the country and Matt Leinart is very consistent. Like OU, on a mission for the title.

3--Auburn - I can see them leapfrogging OU in the real BCS if they both win their respective conference title games since OU's schedule isnt great. I think the most balanced team in the country, someone is going to get left out in the rain. The most important thing with them is going to be the SEC Title game. While OU will coast vs Iowa State, AU will have to play Tennessee and a much tougher game.

4--Michigan - Too bad that Notre Dame game is going to haunt them. Really an example of a team that is getting better as the year goes along and the future looks bright in Ann Arbor---definately a team a year away.

5--Miami - Now that they have beaten Virginia and FSU, the only thing left is to beat Va Tech to rap up their first ACC title.

6 -- Boston College - Ouch, is the word when you think of the team that gets the shaft from the BCS while BC is playing in a major bowl game.

So in my book the BCS games will look like this:

ORANGE BOWL (usually Big East vs AT Large): Oklahoma vs USC (truly the two best teams in America, sorry Auburn)
SUGAR BOWL (ACC vs SEC): Miami vs Auburn
FIESTA BOWL (usually Big 12 vs AT LARGE): Boston College vs Texas
ROSE BOWL (usually PAC 10 vs BIG 10): California vs Michigan

Let me explain:
Since the Pac 10 winner and the Big 12 winner will be playing in the national title game, it leaves the Fiesta taking the Big East champ Boston College and an at large. They will take Texas and love it, since Texas (being in proximity with the Fiesta) fans will make a huge impact on attendance/money. The Rose Bowl people are very fusy and will choose California over Utah since California travels better and they are a Pac 10 team to keep the traditional Pac 10/Big 10 game in tact. Sorry Utah, you need a California/Texas loss to get in.

HEISMAN LIST:
1-- Jason White (OU)
2--Alex Smith (Utah)
3--Reggie Bush (USC)
4--Braylon Edwards (MICHIGAN)

Down year the Pac-10 is having? Did I miss something? The Pac-10 has two bona-fide BCS teams in USC and CAL....another excellent team in Arizona State that can hang with whatever Big Ten, SEC, or ACC team with the same record you want to send their way...UCLA, Oregon State, and Oregon have been solid football teams.

C'mon....one of our worst teams....Arizona who are pitiful came within 4 or 5 inches of beating a team like Wisconsin...they choked and Wisconsin escaped with the win...9-7....what's that say about a conference like the Big Ten? Arizona State absolutely raped the 3rd best team in that conference earlier in the year too....

And Jason White is not the best QB in college football.....

Dude, I know you're a Pac-10 homer, but PLEASE don't continue kissing ASU's *** like this....they got absolutely DOGGED when they played both USC and Cal. They beat Iowa early in the season, when teams are struggling to find an identity.

Oh, and BTW, I meant to have Cal higher on my rankings.

Also, I think that these QBs are arguably better than Jason White:

Matt Leinart
Aaron Rodgers
Alex Smith
Jason Campbell

IMO, I put White directly beneath Rodgers and just above Smith.

The Pac-10 isn't having a down year, it is just top-heavy. It has two great teams in USC and Cal, a midranger in Arizona State, and then the rest, battling for scraps.

I give Zona credit for hanging with the Beeeadgers, but I think you also have to put into consideration that Zona probably played their best game of the year in that game, while Sconsin played one of their worst.

Um, Arizona State is good but hardly great, and in their two chances to show something, they got humiliated by USC and California....Yes, they beat Iowa but that was before they got their act together to the tune of 6 straight wins. Their schedule consists of the pac 10 powderpuffs (only win that holds credibilty was vs UCLA) and UTEP (not a powerhouse) and Northwestern (pesky but not a powerhouse)

UCLA, Oregon State and Oregon -- having solid years? being 5-5 or 6-4 is having a solid year in college football?

After USC, California, and Arizona State the rest of the Pac 10 looks like this:

UCLA 6-4
OSU 5-5
Oregon 5-5
Stanford 4-6
WSU 4-6
Arizona 2-8
Washington 1-9
===========
Grand total of 27-42!!! YIKES

Lets take this even further. After today's game, the conference win/loss totals look like this:
Big 12: 69-49 record, .584 winning percentage
ACC: 59-45 record, .567
Big 10: 63-48, .567
Big East: 37-29, .560
SEC: 64-51, .556
Pac 10: 54-45, .545

Lets go even fuuuurther than that and look at out of conference records:
Big 12: 26-8 record
Big 10: 24-8 record
ACC: 23-8 record
SEC: 22-10 record
Big East: 20-11 record
Pac 10: 18-12 record

Yes, even the Big East has a better overall winning percentage and out of conference record for its teams than the Pac 10. This occurs even though the pac 10 has three teams having 3 losses combined!!!

What, the pac 10 beat some good teams too? OK but:
--Pac 10 is 4-6 vs BCS conferences NOT COUNTING two losses to Notre Dame and one to Utah (arizona)
--Arizona has a win vs Northern Arizona
--Washington's one win was vs San Jose State

Sorry to humiliate your point of the Pac 10 holding credibility but Ill try on Jason White too.

His total numbers after today look like this:
2529 yards, 28 TDS, completion near 65 after tonight, 4 INTS and 8 sacks

2529 yards -- top 15 in the country and only Ryan Crumbie, Andrew Walter, Chris Leak, Derek Anderson and oddly Ryan Hart (rutgers baby) has more from BCS conferences

28 TDS -- top 5 in the country and only Andrew Walter and Chris Leak have more from a BCS conference

and yes, over 110 other college QBs have allowed more sacks or thrown more INTS.....in fact im willing to say hes the least sacked and least careless passer in college football this year (but the list stops at 100).

The Jason White thing is debatable.....the Pac 10 thing is faaaaaaaaar from close

No way in hell can they keep Auburn out of the championship game if they win out.

Don't let Kareem read this, he will throw a fit!

Seriously though I'd love to see Utah sneak into a BCS bowl game. Then we could see what that team is really made of. And I think the Utes would get a rude awakening that I'd very much enjoy!
