I think so....
OFFICIALLY OUT OF THE RUNNING
1. Braylon Edwards - still the nation's best WR, but a couple of big drops officially killed him.
TOP THREE
1. Adrian Peterson - nation's toughest runner, went for 200+ against the mighty Baylor D.
2. Matt Leinart - just keeps moving the offense. Most consistent player out there.
3. Jason Campbell - doesn't have the stats, but leading Auburn to an undefeated regular season against the SEC gives him credibility. If they beat UT in the SECCG, he'll have even more credibility.
ALSO-RANS
1. Reggie Bush - Peter Warrick remade...should get higher consideration, but shares touches with LenDale White, killing his only legit shot. Still the most dangerous player on the field, any time.
2. Alex Smith - leads his team to an undefeated record, and is a dual threat running and throwing...but the undefeated came against Mountain West Conference opposition.
3. Aaron Rodgers - it seems unfair, but I get the feeling that his Heisman chances went down the tank when Cal lost to USC. He played great against them, too, so why does it hurt him? I don't get it, but he's not getting any hype.
4. Jason White - it's a shame that last years Big 12 Championship Game will prevent White from getting the Heisman THIS year. Still, he's getting late support, so he is the darkhorse right now.
My pick for winner? Leinart. And truthfully, I think he's the most deserving. A classy guy who doesn't beat his chest for being probably the most consistent player in America.
