Tulane hiring Bob Toledo as new football coach
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Mexico offensive coordinator Bob Toledo is taking over at Tulane.
Two people familiar with the decision, who asked not to be identified because a formal announcement was pending, told The Associated Press on Monday that Toledo - a former head coach at UCLA - had been hired by the Green Wave.
Tulane scheduled a news conference for 5:30 p.m. (EST) on Monday to introduce its new coach.
Toledo will take over for Chris Scelfo, who was fired after Tulane finished 4-8 this season. Toledo helped New Mexico finish 6-6 and earn a berth in the inaugural New Mexico Bowl.
Toledo coached at UCLA from 1996-2002, compiling a 49-32 record that included a school-record 20-game winning streak and two Pac-10 championships. Despite his successes, he was fired in 2002 by Dan Guerrero, then in his first year as UCLA's athletic director, who said he felt the program wasn't heading in the right direction after a 7-5 season.
Scelfo spent eight seasons at Tulane and went 37-57. He also guided the Green Wave through the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, when the team was displaced, played 11 games in 11 different cities and finished 2-9.

Tulane...Time!
Toledo was a good hire. As for UCF, Florida will thrash them! Houston and Tulsa are all the C-USA critics/guru media choice hands down! Just look at their returning experience and starters, UCF, no way! Hey UCFnole or whatever you are, you're mad about UCF's visit to Norman a couple a seasons ago too...aren't you? Poor Floridian, go get a sunburn and drink some skunky Coronas with a couple of aspirin, you'll feel better in the morning...maybe! Your just pi**ed aren't you?...Breathe through your nose man, I'm tellin' ya! More oxygen to the brain! Besides, you started it!...*#$^@&%!

Bob will need 4 years before judgment can be rendered, most schools allow that time frame...good luck Bob! His recruiting is already looking a little better for next season. Keep the faith Tulane!

Tulane played awesome in the first half, especially with LSU completely abandoning the run, (I have no idea why, considering that oline) too bad they couldn't keep up, I was enjoying watching the game before it got out of hand.
OU will drop to 9 or 10 after that loss to CU, maybe farther

Since the departure of Mike Leach, OC of OU in 2000 and Mike Stoops at DC, Bob Stoops had the best staff structure in the country. My case in point...since 2000 NC, we have lost to USC(Orange), LSU(Sugar) and BSU in the (Fiesta). If you look at TT's offensive stats every year, it pretty much says it all for Leach...M. Stoops 2000 defense on the NCAA leading and #1 offense win against, FSU! Huge difference!

It has obviously been determined about LSU...Toledo will be good for Tulane. Held the Tigers to 86 yds rushing, 6 sacks and a flurry of hurries on Flynn! Keep going Bob!
