Default 'Boys Release Keyshawn, IS TO NEXT

'Boys Release Keyshawn

By Roy Philpott
TheRanchReport.com
Date: Mar 14, 2006

The Dallas Cowboys cut ties with Keyshawn Johnson Tuesday. Could the team's next move be signing Terrell Owens?

In a move that had been speculated by TheRanchReport.com for the last two months, the Dallas Cowboys released wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Tuesday.

By cutting ties with the former No. 1 overall pick in the draft, Dallas avoided paying him a $1 million roster bonus.

The move also opens the door even more for a possible run at Terrell Owens, who was released earlier today by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Johnson, 33, caught 71 passes for 839 yards and six touchdowns last year in Dallas. Those numbers were remarkably similar to what he did in 2004 (70 catches, 981 yards, six TDs) with one notable exception: he caught 15 passes of 20-yards-plus in 2004, and just seven last year.

Before his release, Johnson reportedly wanted a one-year contract extension with the Cowboys. He was scheduled to make $1.5 million this upcoming season.

Well keyshawn is somewhat of a loss, but if they get T.O. he will take over johnsons spot. I also think wherever TO goes he will cause trouble, just if he dosent get the amount of catches or money he wants. Just my opinion hes a great player but has a big mouth.

TO in Dallas actually has a ring to it. Here's why. After a controversial season, he always has a great season as he did with the Eagles after leaving the Niners. With Parcells there, we all know how he doesn't tolerate crap from anyone and won't hesistate to lay down the law before they sign TO and after they sign him. Plus the storyline of going to a team that's a rival to his last two teams has to be so tempting for him. I like the idea, and I think it will happen.

It's going to happen and I just want dawkins to hurt him! I can already see it now, he's going to score and the first thing he'll do is that star celebration.

As long as he's paid though he will be happy and you know Jones will pay him, I just hope Bledsoe crumbles this year.

this has got to be a sign that they are going to pick up TO. It's not like they were trying to save money, 1 million isn't going to break the bank. Wonder where KeyShawn is off to next?
